The company Simms was founded in 1980 by professional guide John Simms. With vast experience fishing on the world's most renowned rivers, John realized that the waders available at the time could not provide fishermen with the comfort, convenience, and dryness they needed, especially for guides spending over 150 days a year on the water. Therefore, Simms embarked on developing next-generation products that could allow for longer stays on the water in any weather.

By the late 1980s, John had created the strongest and most reliable fishing waders available at the time. Choosing the right direction for the company's development, he continued to pursue his passion, spending much time fishing, testing, and perfecting Simms' products.

In 1993, Simms developed the first "breathable" waders, which became a breakthrough in the fishing market. Since then, these wading suits have been the company's hallmark, maintaining its leadership position to this day.

In 2007, Simms introduced a completely new series of waders to the world - the G4 series. At the time, it was an advanced product made from durable Gore-Tex® membrane fabric, with patented seam technology and anatomical design.
